Honestly, I was faking it a bit on that chord – it was the only one I didn’t feel confident about. For me, it’s not a question of the 7th or not – I think adding the 7th is fine – but whether F#minor is the best chord for that spot, period. There’s a G in the melody… And it’s also the only chord not in the key of Gmajor.
Anyway, I’ll try F#minor7 for now, and report back with any further ideas.
